Michael is an experienced, versatile lighting designer specialising in musical theatre in the UK and abroad.
UK productions include: Orpheus, (BAC and Little Bulb Theatre Co); Singin’ in The Rain and Legally Blonde, (Kilworth House Theatre); Priscilla - Queen of the Desert, (ATG and David Ian); the 21st and 30th Anniversary productions of The Rocky Horror Show,( ATG Ltd); Lighting Consultant for We Will Rock You, (Dominion Theatre); Singin’ in the Rain, (Royal National Theatre); Dr Livingstone I Presume? (Riverside Studios); the regional tour of Smoky Joe's Cafe, (Birmingham Rep and national tour); Richard O'Brien's musical Disgracefully Yours (London and New York) and Great Expectations (London).
International productions include: Cabaret, (Kammeroper Koln); Wicked, (Det Ny Teater); Hairspray, (Hamburg Stage School); Saturday Night Fever, (Joop van den Ende); Hurrem Sultan Dance Project (Hurrem Sultam Produksyion, Istanbul) and Guldestan, (State Opera of Turkey).
As Associate Lighting Designer future productions include The Prince of Egypt (Dominion Theatre). Michael is Associate LD for The Phantom of the Opera (Really Useful Group) having re-lit the production 60 times around the world! Other national and international tours include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat (UK and Germany); Wicked (London and Struttgart). For DIsney Theatrical he is Associate Lighting Designer on Tarzan (Hamburg and Stuttgart); Aida (Korea and Germany); Beauty and the Beast (London and UK tour, Stuttgart and Mexico City); Aladdin (London and Hamburg).
Michael has lit many high profile events including the stage presentations of Mulan, in Disneyland Paris, the Millennium event at Disneyland Paris and events at Alton Towers.
Regional productions as Lighting Designer include Macbeth, King Lear and Black Snow, (East 15); At Home With Mr Maugham, (New End Theatre and the Mill Studio and tour); The Bespoke Overcoat, (New End Theatre); Smoking with Lulu, (Soho Theatre & West Yorkshire Playhouse); Bouncers, (Churchill Theatre & national tour) and Blithe Spirit, West Yorkshire Playhouse.
