NANCY HIRST
Director
Most recently Nancy was associate director for
My Boy Jack, with David Haig and Belinda Lang,
(originally directed by John Dove) for the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre
and subsequent tour.
Prior to this successful tour productions as Director include
The Canterbury Tales (Icon Theatre tour);
Five Fabulous Brothers, (Young Vic); The
Men’s Room, (Croydon Warehouse Theatre);
Violent Outing (Soho Theatre); Cosi Fan
Tutte (City Opera); The Beggar’s
Opera (OFA, Richard Eyre Theatre); Suor
Angelica (City Opera); Skeleton Woman and
Lady Death (BAC) and I Died at the
Seaside (Etcetera Theatre).
As assistant director Nancy has worked for Opera North, ROH, Covent
Garden, The Bush Theatre and the Cambridge Arts Theatre.
Nancy won the Stephen Arlen Award 2002 for her production of
The Men’s Room and was a finalist for the
James Menzies-Kitchen Young Director’s Award at the BAC
2002.
In 2003 Nancy participated in the RNT Studio Director’s
Programme.
