Alex trained in Theatre Design at Wimbledon School of Art and since graduating has designed over fifty productions.

As
Resident Designer at the award winning Finborough Theatre Alex has designed many of their productions including: Plague Over England, Little Madam, Love Child, Eden's Empire, The Representative, Red Night, Lark Rise to Candleford, Albert’s Boy, Hortensia And The Museum of Dreams, Trelawny of the 'Wells', Soldiers, How I Got That Story and The Women's War - three one-act suffrage plays by various authors (Including Press Cuttings by George Bernard Shaw).

Other recent designs include: The Pink Bedroom, four one-act Tennessee Williams plays, Courtyard Theatre; The Viewing Room, Arts Theatre; My Real War 1914 --? (national tour); Sweet Charity, Theatre Royal Drury Lane; King Arthur, Arcola Theatre; Oklahoma!, New Wimbledon Theatre; Gym and Tonic, Cooking With Elvis, Opposite Sex and Inside Job, all for Lyceum Crewe rep season; Hush, Pleasance Edinburgh Festival and Arcola Theatre; Twelfth Night and Been So Long, Broadway Theatre, Catford; Marilla Pera Sings Ary Barroso, Bloomsbury Theatre; A Doll's House, The Ruffian on the Stair / The Erpingham Camp, Greenwich Playhouse; Agamemnon / Androcles and the Lion and Oedipus, The Scoop, City Hall.

Alex is also Associate Designer for Shapeshifter Theatre Company, winner of the 2004 Mark Marvin Award (Peter Brook Empty Space Awards) and his work has been exhibited in several group exhibitions, most recently in the Collaborators:UK Design for Performance exhibition in Nottingham.
